New York state lent snow removal equipment to the City of Mount Vernon to help clean up after Saturday's blizzard.
Residents in some congested areas say they can't open their doors at the curb or reach parking meters to pay.
The special equipment is designed to scoop up snow and funnel it directly into a truck so crews can cart it away. It can move up to 200 tons of snow an hour.
As the equipment cleans up streets, they will be closed to parking.
