It was standing room only at the Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill Wednesday as friends and family said goodbye to a teenager brutally stabbed in a fight over a boy.
According to police, 17-year-old Elsa Camacho was recruited by an unidentified 28-year-old woman to fight 17-year-old Krystle Fernandez on Saturday. The older woman apparently believed Fernandez was having an affair with her 16-year old boyfriend. Police say it was during that fight that Fernandez stabbed Camacho eight times. Fernandez is charged with first-degree manslaughter.
Friends of Camacho were still having trouble coming to terms with her violent death. Police have not said if they are planning to charge the other woman in connection to Camacho?s death.
