A Spring Valley man is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed in the chest this morning.
EMS workers say a 27-year-old male was knifed on South Main Street in the area of Furman Place earlier this morning and taken to Nyack Hospital. They say he was in stable condition on arrival, and the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening
Spring Valley police tell News 12 that the victim's attacker was located in the vicinity and the knife was recovered. They say Tomas Lorenzo-Perez, 39, was arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder in the first degree and one count of assault in the first degree.
Lorenzo-Perez is currently being held in the police department jail while awaiting arraignment in Spring Valley Justice Court. The motive for the stabbing has not been released yet.
