A Spring Valley family said their goodbyes to their son Wednesday after a tragic shooting last week.
The wake for Jefferson Jimenez Hernandez was an emotional moment for his family and friends.
Hernandez was weeks away from his 21st birthday when he was shot and killed in the Bronx trying to buy a motorcycle he found through Facebook Marketplace.
"His life was unjustly taken away. So we're here to ask that you help us find justice for Jefferson,” said Miriam Hernandez, his mother.
This week, police arrested and charged 23-year-old Manual Reyes with murder, manslaughter and other alleged charges in connection with Jefferson’s death.
Now Jefferson’s mother and other loved ones bid a final farewell to him at their home in Spring Valley where the 20-year-old lived since coming to the U.S. from Guatemala almost 10 years ago.
They say they remember him for loving art and always being respectful.
