Happy spring!

Spring officially started at 5:01 a.m. today. Unfortunately, it is not a great spring weather day.

Mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle and fog today, but tonight there will be a quick round of steadier rain that will move through between around 7 p.m. and midnight.

A few light rain sprinkles or even flurries can linger for a few hours after midnight. This will amount to around 0.5 inches of rain or slightly less in most areas.

Friday, wind gusts can reach around 40 mph, making highs in the 40s feel like the 30s.

The weekend will feature a few spotty light rain showers on Saturday with sunnier weather on Sunday. Next week can start with a brief mix to mostly all plain rain in the morning before nicer weather settles in for the middle of the week.

FRIDAY: WINDY AND CHILLY -- A mix of sun and clouds. Morning wind chills will start in the 20s. Wind gusts will range from 20 to 40 mph out of the northwest. This will make highs around 49 degrees feel like the mid-30s at times Friday afternoon.

SATURDAY: SPOTTY SHOWER — Mostly cloudy with a few hints of sun and also a few spotty light rain showers. Highs around 57 degrees. Lows near 32 degrees. SUNDAY: SUNNY AND BREEZY — Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 40s. Wind gusts up to around 20 mph will make it feel a little chillier. Lows around 34 degrees. Becoming cloudy at night with a brief mix and rain moving in overnight. MONDAY: WET START — Cloudy and rainy start to the day. Drying out a bit for the afternoon. Highs around 52 degrees. Lows near 38 degrees.

TUESDAY: DECENT DAY! Partly sunny and breezy with highs around 53 degrees. Lows near 35 degrees. WEDNESDAY: NICE AND SEASONABLE — Sun and clouds. Highs around 48 degrees. Lows near 33 degrees.
