Spirit Airlines has updated its contract of carriage. The airline on Jan. 22 issued new rules when it comes to clothing passengers may wear while flying.
The airline says it may now refuse service to passengers who are wearing lewd, obscene, offensive or revealing clothing. This also includes body art and tattoos.
Passengers are also prohibited from being barefoot or wearing see-through clothing.
News 12 asked viewers on social media if they agreed with the new rules.
Tina says, “Seriously? Dress codes? How long before they are mandating women wear burqas?”
Carlee says she agrees with the dress code. She says people walk barefoot through security now, which she describes as “so gross.”
Charles thinks there should be a dress code. He thinks airlines should allow discretion in terms of allowing passengers to change their clothes.
Those who are not in compliance may be denied boarding or removed from flights.
