The two candidates running for Westchester County executive held their first debate Thursday.
Incumbent Andy Spano, a Democrat, and his Republican challenger, Rob Astorino, faced off at the Westchester County Association in Rye Brook in the first of several debates between now and the November election.
Among the topics discussed by the candidates were property taxes in Westchester and a controversial housing settlement the county reached with the federal government.
