A surveillance photo obtained by News 12 shows what sources say is one of the people involved in a fatal shooting in Port Jefferson this week.

Police say David Bliss Jr., was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon on Main Street, in front of a Dunkin' location.

Homicide detectives say it was not a random shooting, adding that there was some sort of argument.

A man named Antonio says Bliss had just ordered two pizzas from him, but then abruptly walked outside, saying he'd be back.

"I heard, like one shot, two guys just came out, like a black car, they parked right in the front," says Antonio.

Antonio says it seemed like Bliss knew the shooter, or the other people in the car. In the photo, the car appears to be a sports car with a spoiler wing on the back.

"They had like an argument with those two guys, and then I saw two guys came out, it happened so quick, less than a minute I think, I just heard one shot," he says. He added that he did not pay attention to exactly what they were saying.

Bliss' mother has set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses, saying her husband has been laid off for most of the year because of the pandemic. On the page, Theresa Bliss says David was her "beautiful, loving, caring, blue-eyed boy," as well as her "first born" and a "piece of her heart."

Antonio and Brittany Fabian, who works right across the street, say it's frightening and unusual for there to be gunfire in the middle of the afternoon on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village.

"That's kind of scary, just knowing that someone is just walking around shooting people over something stupid," she says.

Police have not made any arrests.
