Former Hudson Valley Rep. Mondaire Jones could be staging a comeback.
A source told News 12's Tara Rosenblum that there is a high likelihood that Jones will seek the Democratic nod in the 17th District.
He represented Rockland and parts of Westchester for one term before his district was redrawn in 2022.
Jones then sought a congressional seat in a district covering Manhattan and Brooklyn, but was defeated.
At least two other Democrats are interested in running in the 17th District.
Whoever wins would face Republican Rep. Mike Lawler, who defeated Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney in 2022.
Liz Gereghty, a small businesswoman and school board member, announced her campaign for the district on Tuesday.
