A son found his elderly parents dead inside their New City home when he went to check on them Tuesday, prompting an investigation.
Police said Joseph Codi, 89, and his wife, Elizabeth Codi, 85, were in separate bedrooms in their home on Raven Terrace. It appeared as though they had been dead for more than a week.
Investigators said they didn't suspect foul play, but autopsy results from the Rockland Medical Examiner's Office haven't been released yet. Officials also haven't ruled out natural causes.
Authorities also said a toxicology report, which is scheduled to be completed in the next few days, might be helpful. The report could determine whether carbon monoxide was to blame.
