The son of a Yonkers woman is accused of stabbing her to death in her home.
Police say they found 50-year-old Dawne McCray's body Saturday in her bedroom at the Schlobohm Houses.
Her son, 27-year-old Andrew Coverdale, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the case.
Coverdale allegedly stabbed his mother multiple times and was arrested at the scene. He is currently being held at Westchester County Jail.
News 12 spoke with McCray in August as she strived to make her crime-ridden community near the Schlobohm Houses a better place.
The housing complex has a history of high crime, with security guards now stationed at every entrance.
