A Sleepy Hollow woman gave birth to a baby boy in the back of a police car outside her apartment on College Avenue Friday, after a neighbor couldn't get her to the hospital fast enough.
Misty Mantey says she went into labor just after midnight on Friday, and couldn't find anyone to get her to hospital. A neighbor came to her aid, but the police were called for help after her contractions kept getting faster.
Officers Wendy Yancey and Stephen Docerty got Mantey into their squad car, but she told them they wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital. The police officers assisted in the delivery of Mantey's son, Prince, and mother and baby were then brought to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
