Dr. Dylan Stewart of Maria Fareri Children's Hospital is urging families to be cautious when sledding.
While the activity can be fun for all ages, Stewart says injuries are common.
“Most important thing is to have adult supervision. A kid should sled with an adult,” he said. “The second thing is knowing your sledding hill. You should not be sledding down toward a road or a pond or trees. Just make sure you have a good clear area for your kids to sled."
Stewart also advises sledders to watch the clock because the sun sets early during this time of year.
