New Jersey prosecutors say that a Spring Valley teen who was fatally stabbed over the weekend in Edgewater died during a confrontation.
Khari Noerdlinger, 19, has been charged with manslaughter in the stabbing death of 16-year-old Savion Lewallen, of Spring Valley.
Prosecutors say Noerdlinger and Lewallen knew each other, and that they were drug dealers working together.
Lewallen was stabbed on Sunday night after he and four other people from Rockland County allegedly confronted Noerdlinger in Edgewater. Prosecutors say Lewallen and the others were either trying to rob Noerdlinger, or claim money from their drug business.
Noerdlinger is the son of Rachel Noerdlinger, a former aide to the wife of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Lewallen was released from the Rockland County Jail a few weeks ago. He was charged for allegedly holding and assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the woods near Spring Valley High School in April.
Noerdlinger is being held on $500,000 bail. The four other Rockland residents who were with Lewallen are facing robbery charges and are being held on $750,000 bail.
