A single-engine plane skidded off the runway at Westchester County Airport Wednesday.
County officials say the pilot was the only one onboard the Cessna 172 and he sustained minor injuries. The plane was in the process of landing on runway 29 when it skidded off into a wooded area nearby. The airport fire department was called to the scene.
The pilot was reportedly practicing takeoffs and landings at the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
