Don't be surprised if you bump into R&B star Al B. Sure roaming the streets of Mount Vernon.
That's because the singer is in his hometown filming a new documentary. Over the next few days, he'll stop by his old neighborhood and Mount Vernon High School to document the city's influence on his life and music.
Yesterday, Sure stopped by City Hall to visit Mayor Ernie Davis. Sure was living in Mount Vernon in the late 1980s, when he started making waves in the music industry. "Growing up to be encouraged to achieve, to strive to have the wherewithal or the incentive to make a dollar over lunch money and really just expressing art. Mount Vernon was the original hustle," says Sure.
The documentary is a part of a series "Unsung" on the "TV One" network.
