News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Jacob Dolinger says the Hudson Valley will see showers and a chance for thunderstorms on Friday.
NOW: Generally calm with clouds. Temperatures are seasonable, reaching upper-70s in spots. Still dry, per drought monitor.
WHAT'S NEW: Showers and potential thunderstorms make their way into the region late Friday as well as Saturday. Some upper-level wildfire smoke could also limit storm potential.
WHAT'S NEXT: Looking forward to Father's Day? Looking across the Hudson Valley, warmer and sunnier than Saturday.
FORECAST
OVERNIGHT: Some passing clouds. Lows in the mid- to upper-50s to near 60 degrees. Winds west 5 to 10 mph.
FRIDAY: Sun early, giving way to showers and isolated storms late in the day. Highs in the upper-70s to near 80 degrees.
SATURDAY: Showers and isolated storms early. Clearing late in the day. Highs only in the low-70s. Nighttime lows in the 50s.
SUNDAY - FATHER'S DAY: Turning sunny with warmer temperatures. Highs in the upper-70s. Nighttime lows in the upper-50s.
MONDAY - JUNETEENTH: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the 70s. Lows in the upper-50s.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. A sprinkle is possible. Highs around 70. Lows in the upper-50s.
WEDNESDAY - SUMMER SOLSTICE: Mostly cloudy. Showers are possible. Highs around 70.
