Some residents are finding warmth at homeless shelters Saturday as the bitter blast of cold weather is taking hold across the Hudson Valley.
With the worst of the cold air still on its way, the extremely low temperatures could become dangerous.
The Sharing Community Shelter in Yonkers opened its doors around the clock for those in need, providing food and a warm place to stay for residents.
Officials across the region are also warning pet owners to make sure to bring their pets inside.
