It was a final farewell in Orange County Thursday to a former state Sen. Bill Larkin – a World War II veteran who passed away last weekend after four decades of public service.
Services were held for friends and family at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson for the 91-year-old lawmaker.
Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney told News 12 that he “loved to watch the senator work.”
“It was so clear to see how he loved the people he represented," said Rep. Maloney.
Sen. Larkin retired in Dec. 2018. Before entering public service, he served in the U.S. Army in World War II and the Korean War – retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
Former state Sen. Larkin leaves behind his wife Patricia, their eight children, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
