Members of a senior quilting club are being recognized for their contributions during Women's History Month.

The club created quilts for an exhibit, which has been extended through the first week of March.

To kick off Women's History Month, there will be an event today at Mount Vernon City Hall. Guests will have the opportunity to place bids on the quilts through a silent auction, with the proceeds going directly to the creators.

The "The Future is Female" event will also feature live performances, and several honorees will receive awards for their outstanding contributions.
