Sen. Chuck Schumer has joined the fight to stop swatting incidents in the Middletown School District.
Thirteen fake bomb threats have been phoned in to the district this school year alone.
Schumer wants the Federal Communications Commission to allow Middletown schools to have access to critical caller ID information to help police find a caller who uses a blocked number.
Schumer says the FCC has granted similar waivers in the past. "Without the ability to determine the validity of each threat and take proper precautions, these perpetrators - who are terrorizing the City of Middletown's students, businesses and residents - will be allowed to continue hiding in the shadows," says Schumer
