Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling for stricter rules over Halloween makeup.
He says federal authorities should routinely test the components of novelty makeup and face paint.
Schumer says some products have been tested and revealed unsafe levels of lead, which can pose a threat to children.
Lead is banned from makeup in Canada and Europe, but not in the U.S.
