Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino announced today that there will be increased police patrols near area synagogues leading up to the Rosh Hashanah holiday.

Astorino was in Rye to explain how patrols will be focused on all likely targets as well as other places where an attack may seem less likely. He says police will be working hard to keep all of Westchester safe.

This is the third year the county has beefed up security around synagogues .
