Another milestone has been reached in the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
The first sections of roadway have been installed on the northbound span where the new bridge curves toward Rockland. The road panels sit atop blue girders that were installed since the beginning of the summer.
State Thruway Authority officials say that, as of Monday, 70 steel-reinforced road deck panels have been installed by Tappan Zee Constructors.
The new $3.9 billion bridge is expected to open in 2018.
