Violent attack sends MTA bus driver to hospital after Yonkers street incident

Police are still on the hunt for a man they say abandoned his car on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

According to investigators it happened around 1 p.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of the Hutch between Purchase Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Police say the driver of a blue Mercedes was involved in an accident then left his car and took off running off into nearby woods. The driver of the other car involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

A massive search was launched with Harrison. Westchester County and Rye Brook law enforcement searched the area for hours. K-9 units were also brought in to help. Some nearby schools went into a brief lockout just to be safe.
