State police were back out on the Hudson River Monday searching for a 46-year-old kayaker who was last seen in the area two weeks ago.
Vincent Viafore, of Poughkeepsie, was kayaking with his fiancée Angelica Graswald in two separate crafts from Plum Point to Bannerman's Island nearly two weeks ago, in what police say were dangerous conditions.
Graswald told police Viafore likely drowned after falling out of his kayak without a life jacket.
Police believe Graswald killed him, and she has been charged with murder.
Kayak instructor Cara Melling says based on her knowledge about how the river runs, she doesn't believe Viafore's body will be found near Cornwall.
"You always have the thought in the back of your mind it could be anywhere, so you always have eyes open, but I know in the back of my mind it's not gonna be here," she says.
Graswald is charged with second-degree murder in Viafore's presumed death. She is being held in Orange County Jail without bail.
