An accident involving two school buses loaded with children snarled traffic on I-95 this morning.

Police say the accident occurred on the northbound side, where it meets the Hutchinson River Parkway in Pelham. They say a smaller bus lost control and hit a guard rail, and then was struck by a larger bus.

Two adults suffered minor injuries, but all the children were uninjured. Both vehicles suffered considerable damage.

The accident shut down three lanes of traffic and caused major delays in both directions.
