School bus, mini-bus crash injures 10 on NY-CT border
A school bus and a mini-bus collided on the Port Chester/Connecticut border Tuesday.
It happened on King Street in Greenwich.
Countywide Transportation of Yonkers confirmed one of its buses was transporting seven people with intellectual disabilities from their school program in Port Chester to their homes.
County Transportation officials tell News 12 that a total of 10 people were involved in the accident. This includes nine on their bus, and a driver of a Sacred Heart School bus.
Everyone on both buses was taken to Stamford Hospital for their injuries.
News 12 is told the buses are equipped with cameras.
"We transport them from their homes and their group homes to the facility, then back from the facility to their group homes," says Christine Soifer from Countywide Transportation.
The Countywide Transportation director tells News 12 the driver was not distracted and appears to have been hit head-on.
Police are investigating the crash.
