The Town of Ramapo hosted a first-of-its-kind school bus driver training program at Town Hall on Tuesday.
Nearly 100 private school bus drivers were expected to attend the hour-long session.
Topics involved care and custody of students, defensive driving and how to avoid the most common collisions.
The training comes after several children were hit by buses in Ramapo over the last year.
The Ramapo Police Department says it has written 200 tickets within the last year to drivers who pass school buses.
