A school bus crashed into a home in Howell on Tuesday, injuring the 22-year-old driver.
Police say no children were on board when the bus crashed around 7:30 a.m. They say emergency medical services were requested for the driver who sustained a facial injury. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is doing OK, according to officials.

Police say a woman and two young children were in the home at the time of the crash. The family was not in the living room at the time of the crash, and they were not injured, according to officials.
The bus knocked over a mailbox and hit a utility pole before slamming into the corner of the house. One neighbor told News 12 New Jersey that he heard a “loud bang.”

Claude Bambury says he was standing in his yard across the street on Asbury Road when the crash happened.
"By the time I turned around, it was between the two trees already,” Bambury said. "It's the first time I've seen something like this."

There is no word yet on what caused the crash. However, police say it appears the driver fell asleep. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Other than a brief power outage in the neighborhood, the damage from the crash is mostly structural. The fire department remained on the scene to make sure the house is secure before the bus can be moved out of the family’s living room.
