Scarsdale schools Superintendent Thomas Hagerman has resigned amid a probe into a financial cover-up.
The school board learned that Hagerman’s administration covered up for close to a year the imposition of over a million dollars in fines by the IRS for payroll withholding tax errors.
Hagerman cited the IRS fines as a "major distraction."
The Board of Education accepted his resignation, with Assistant Superintendent of Schools Drew Patrick named interim superintendent.
