A Scarsdale police officer en route to a Memorial Day parade was hospitalized Monday after officials say an SUV crashed into his motorcycle.
Police say the driver of the Honda SUV, 43-year-old Neil Mcintosh, was crossing over Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle when he crashed into Officer Jeffrey Santo. The officer was thrown off his motorcycle and shattered the SUV's windshield. Santo was headed to a New Rochelle parade at around 10:15 a.m.
The 36-year-old officer was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Police say Mcintosh was delivering papers at the time of the crash. So far, no charges have been filed.
