If you're looking for something festive to do this weekend, Scared by the Sound is back for the first time since 2019 - and it's in a new location.
News 12 doesn't want to spoil any surprises, but if you are looking to be scared this season, you're going to want to go pay the haunted house a visit.
Scared by the Sound was a Halloween staple at Rye Playland for almost 20 years, but now they've converted a vacant 9,300-square-foot warehouse in Yorktown Heights into a maze of 20 or so differently themed rooms - each with their own frightening surprise.
"You're going to walk in and it's going to be a completely immersive experience. All your senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch - but not physical - are all going to be intrigued by this event," says Connor. "So you're going to walk in there and it's going to be a sensory overload and that's what we're looking for."
Scared by the Sound is open Fridays to Sundays the entire month of October. Tickets are $27 online.
The experience takes about 20 minutes to walk through. It is kid-friendly, but is recommended for kids 11 and older.
