Rye Middle and High schools were on high alert this morning during a bomb scare on campus.
Students say that the principal came on the loudspeaker at around 9 a.m. and told everyone to evacuate. The district told News 12 that close to 2,000 people were evacuated from the school.
City and county police went from classroom to classroom to make sure that the threat was not viable.
Students walked to a nearby church and some local elementary schools. Once everything was clear, they were bussed back to their school.
Parents say they are concerned because this is the third bomb threat at the school this year. One happened in October, and another in December.
According to police, the threat was made via e-mail.
