Drivers in Westchester are being warned about a significant traffic disruption as a section of Route 22 closes starting today for extended road work, Bedford police said.
The closure affects Route 22 between Maple Avenue and Bedford Center Road and is expected to last for roughly one month.
Police said the work is being done for an emergency culvert replacement in the area.
Only vehicles traveling to addresses within the closure zone will be allowed through.
Detours will be posted to help drivers navigate around the shutdown.
Officials are urging motorists to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
