The Ronald McDonald House held its July barbeque and fundraiser in Valhalla on Friday.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families while their child receives critical medical care. The house gets tons of donated items during the holiday season, but supplies and meal program volunteers dwindle during the summer.
"During the summer months, we don't have as many individuals who give the items that we need,” said Ronald McDonald House Executive Director Christina Riley. “So, this is an opportunity for us to create the holidays in the summer. And it really does help us. It helps the house, and it helps the families."
Those who attended the event and came with a donated item received a quick tour of the Ronald McDonald House all decked out in summer holiday decor.
