A teacher in Rockland isn't letting the coronavirus pandemic stop her from bringing some light into her students’ lives.
Jackie DiNuzzo, an eighth grade social studies teacher at Fieldstone Middle School, put together a creative and heartfelt video for her students since she can't be with them in person.
"Here we are pent up and I would give anything right now to be back in the classroom with my colleagues, my administrators, my kids...my kids man. It's what it's all about," says DiNuzzo.
On a normal day, the middle school teacher would be bringing her upbeat energy into the classroom, but due to the pandemic - virtually bringing it will have to do.
The Facebook video has thousands of views, hundreds of comments, and dozens of shares in just one day.
However, in the midst of the pandemic, DiNuzzo says the school has really come together for the students with meals being distributed, as well as Chromebooks.
“We can get through this together, all right? We are a good community and it takes a village," she shared.
Through DiNuzzo's eyes, there's hope that everyone will get through this and hopefully, it will make people appreciate the little things in life a bit more.
