A Rockland County man is dead following a shooting Sunday at his business in New Jersey.
Authorities say Chestnut Ridge resident Richard Zarriello was shot six times, twice in the head, during an apparent robbery attempt in Hackensack.
Police say the shooting happened at around 7 p.m. at the Clean Sweep Chimney Depot. Zarriello was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. Monday at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The 51-year-old leaves behind his wife of 25 years and two daughters.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is now handling the case.
Two police officers were at Zarriello's home on Monday, interviewing his father. They say it is still early in the investigation.
