A Rockland jail union boss has pleaded guilty to falsifying documents.
John Cocuzza, 49, president of the Rockland Corrections Officers Benevolent Association, took a plea deal rather than face over 60 charges of not performing his duties and tampering with jail records.
While Cocuzza admitted he failed to observe inmates on suicide watch at the Rockland County jail, he only pleaded guilty to a single violation of disorderly conduct.
As part of the plea deal, Cocuzza resigned after 13 years on the job and will pay a $250 fine.
