Rockland County residents can expect to see a tax cut next year.
News 12 learned on Friday that Rockland County Executive Ed Day signed and filed the county's 2024 budget this week after receiving it back from the Legislature's approval last week.
The $870 million financial plan includes more money for nonprofits and maintainance jobs as well as services, all while cutting county property taxes by 2%.
"The people of Rockland should be very proud of the fact that we came from the depths of near bankruptcy to one of the strongest counties in the state of New York and we're going to keep on going. We're not going to stop. We're not going to quit until we can get everything done for the people of Rockland," Day said.
The cut comes after two years of no tax increases.
