Thousands of people came out to celebrate the biggest Saint Patrick's Day Parade outside of New York City after it was canceled for the past two years because of COVID-19.

It was all about friends, family and fun at the 58th Rockland County St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Many came out to eat, drink and have a good time, but it was also a big business day for the bars around town.

The county's Ancient Order of Hibernians, an Irish Catholic fraternity, organizes the event.

It's been two years since the 2020 parade was canceled because of COVID-19 and a lot has changed, including the loss of Richard Lenihan, who died from the virus in 2020. Lenihan was a retired member of the NYPD, a member of the Pearl River AOH, who was supposed to be recognized as an aide to the Grand Marshal during the 2020 parade.

Attendees say this year's parade is a way to celebrate being back together, while also honoring those who have died.
