A big Passover ritual in Rockland County is taking a back seat due to the coronavirus this year.

The county has traditionally held massive burning of the bread ceremonies, but officials say this year there is no county-organized bread-burning spot because of the pandemic.

Jewish families and congregations celebrate Biur Chametz , or burning of the bread, by destroying all leavened products to make households ready for Passover.

Fire officials will be monitoring the area as they expect many families to start individual fires.
