A Rockland County judge has ruled an Orange County man remains incompetent to stand trial in the 2019 Hanukkah stabbings in Monsey. 

During a hearing, the judge adjourned the case against Grafton Thomas until December of next year. 

Thomas is charged with attacking five Hasidic Jewish men with a machete in a rabbi's home. One of the victims, a 72-year-old man, died months later. 

Thomas faces second-degree murder charges and federal hate crime charges. 

Thomas is currently a patient at the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center. 

An update is to be presented to a federal judge next month. 

Thomas pleaded not guilty to the charges.
