Road Trip: Magical attractions in Battery Park

News 12 is taking a trip to downtown Manhattan where Battery Park's SeaGlass Carousel is hosting a fish-themed musical event.
Ride the larger-than-life angel fish, butterfly fish and watch the ever-changing light illuminate the creatures of the Seaglass Carousel. Drift away as they dance through the magical underwater world to four original pieces of music.
Battery Conservancy President Warrie Price says the SeaGlass Carousel was a natural fit for the area when it was built in 2015. In addition to the waterfront views, the Battery was the first home of the New York Aquarium.
It's designed for everyone to experience every day in the summer and every weekend in the winter. The center is currently open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Price says she hopes the nonprofit-run underwater escape is about amusement and education.
"It's to have a grand wonderful moment of play and fun and imagination. Secondarily, it's to get us to really understand the conservation responsibilities we all have," says Price.
After riding the SeaGlass Carousel, visitors can follow a labyrinth on the other side of the park for more relaxing and private activity.
The Battery Labyrinth was created to commemorate the one-year anniversary of 9/11 and is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
