A new exhibit examines the American flag through more than 70 diverse pieces of art.

The collection is on view at the Fairfield University Art Museum.

From World War I to present day, "For Which it Stands" challenges viewers to consider who the "Stars and Stripes" truly represent.

"For Which it Stands" will be on view until July 25.

As part of the exhibit, Fairfield University will host companion events and family workshops.
