With the holiday season approaching, Millbrook Beef & Dairy in Dutchess County is offering pasture-raised meats and dairy products straight from the farm.
Owner Keegan Donovan says the farm produces pastured dairy, black Angus beef, and poultry, all sold directly to consumers through an on-site grocery store and retail shop.
The farm has about 350 turkeys available for preorder, raised on high-quality feed and pasture. Customers can pick them up at the farm.
Donovan says the average food item travels 1,500 miles before reaching consumers, but Millbrook cuts that distance to under 100 miles.
Visitors can shop, walk the farm, see the turkeys, watch cows being milked, and learn about the full process from pasture to product.
The dairy barn uses traditional pipeline milking, producing milk with high butterfat content for creamy milk and cheese.
Donovan says the farm operates with respect for the land, animals, and customers, offering a chance to see exactly where food comes from.
