Two rallies with very different messages descended on City Hall Friday evening.
One group gathered to show its solidarity with police officers. Pro-police protesters gathered to say that the NYPD does a good job to keep the city safe.
A rivaling rally also formed outside City Hall. Those protesters say a rally in support of the officers is offensive to those who have died at the hands of police.
The NYPD kept both sides apart with barricades.
