If you’re looking for an adventure in the great outdoors, get ready to ride! Because we’re peddling around the Catskill Mountains with Rail Explorers on this Road Trip Close to Home!
“The top speed on this track is probably about 12 to 15 miles per hour, right now we’re probably only going 5 to 8 miles per hour… but it’s really about the journey, it’s not about going as fast as you can,” says Alex Catchpool.
Reserve a rail bike and cruise along abandoned train tracks.  Your journey will take you into the woods on the historic Ulster and Delaware Railroad along the Esopus Creek. “We’re 4.2 miles each way, it’s a round trip of 8.4 miles, it takes about two and a half hours,” says Catchpool.
And Catchpool says it’s perfect for all ages and safe! “By its very nature you’re separated from other riders, you’re really just in this little bubble with the people that you came with. This is a perfect socially distanced, fun outdoor activity.”
It’s a Road Trip Close to Home that’ll put you on “track” to explore the outdoors like never before! “This is the third time I’ve done this, and every single time is a different experience and it’s just really fun,” says Christine Delsignore, rail explorer. “It’s beautiful just being next to the river here is awesome and the ride…you can’t beat it, it’s the best!” adds Arthur Bruno.
