Daryl George, a reverend and leader of the Messiah Baptist Church in Yonkers, is being accused of attacking a high school student with a baseball bat in his hometown of Millburn, New Jersey.
The 58-year-old reverend was allegedly a part of an incident involving his two sons and another student.
The attack took place on Millburn High School property, where police found the baseball bat. The reverend and his son Lamar are facing a list of charges including aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. Both were arrested and released on bail, parents in the district say.
The teen victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
Rev. George and his son are expected to be back in Essex County Court later this week.
