A retired Orange County judge has reached a settlement with a woman who accused him of sexual abuse.
Karen Fain sued former Judge Jeffrey Berry in 2019, alleging he groomed and assaulted her while she was a Cornwall High School student and he was a teacher.
Fain also sued the Cornwall School District.
A trial was set to begin recently, but a last-minute settlement was reached, resolving the case to "everyone's satisfaction," according to Fain's attorney.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
